How to Fix- iPhone Calendar Freezes While Adding Location in the Event After Update to iOS 11

Have you updated your iPhone, iPod or iPad to newer Apple Operating System iOS 11. After releasing iOS 11 users of iPhone mostly iPhone 6, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE and iPhone 7 are facing lot of problems. One of them is freezing of screen while adding an event and adding a location to the Calendar App. Your screen just locks up and you have to force restart your iPhone to make it work again, which is so frustrating.

Many users are used to using Calendar App regularly and keeping themselves updated of coming events by adding the event to the calendar. Although there were many updates in the iOS 11 after its release still Apple has not made any bug fixation regarding Calendar App in the iPhone and most users are unable to find any better solution to this problem.

Here we will share one simple trick to let your Calendar App work efficiently and you can add any event with location to this App.

Follow steps below:

1. Open Calendar App in your iPhone

2. Now Add a new event.

3. Click Location to add your location.

4. Do not type your location name it will freeze the screen of your iPhone, instead type ZZ (Z two times). Your screen is not freezed and you can still type. Now backspace ZZ and type your location.

Although this is a temporary trick to keep your iPhone Calendar App working. Hopefully Apple will come up with fixation of this bug soon. Till then keep using this trick.


  1. Did not work. The minute you backup and try typing the screen freezes until crash or about 30 seconds if you are lucky as it tries to find the location.
